1. Accreditation Agency
During December there were many consulting meetings with representatives of
PHEI with the aim to inform them about the accreditation criteria and quality
standards in Higher education institutions.
In December in selection of possible experts for site visits during the
accreditation process were worked out. A large number of experts from different
European countries were contacted: two Expert teams for site visits at two
larger private HE institutions and a team for site visits at the public Faculty
of Economics and Faculty of Applied Business sciences at the University of
Prishtina have been set up so far.
31st December 2008 was the deadline for submission of applications for external
evaluation and accreditation by the KAA experts. This was also deadline for
submission of self-assessment reports of private higher education institutions.
This process was accompanied by a high level of interest and response (not only)
among the private institutions.
In January 2009 Prof. Konrad and Mrs. Fiorioli will come for an expert meeting
and other consultations in Prishtina.
The Kosovo Accreditation Agency is thus engaged in two parallel lines to carry
out external evaluation in all higher (public and private) education and
research institutions in Kosovo.
