Introduction
With this news letter we will inform once a month about the status of the project.
The first newsletter gives also a general introduction and description of the project.
Based on the Umbrella Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNMIK – The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo on behalf and for the benefit of The Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Kosovo (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, this multidimensional project features the main elements for the implementation of an institutionalised partnership between Austria and Kosovo in the field of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The underlying document of this operational project is the MoU, whose rules and regulations, assumptions and conditions constitute an integral basis of this document.
The immediate objective of this multidimensional project between Kosovo and Austria is to contribute to a sustainable, good governed and knowledge-based higher education system in Kosovo aligned to European practices and standards, including the development of interfaces to research and innovation to foster – in the medium and long run – economic progress and to reduce poverty.
I personally started this job mid of April 2007. Now I have an interim-office here in Prishtina in the Student Centre and I am available for the support. Support for Austrian and kosovarian institutions.
